Activities of the Bank in the context of the 50 years of Independence of Mauritius

The Bank of Mauritius has planned a series of activities in the context of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of Mauritius. These activities will unfold from the 3rd of March 2018 to the 12th of March 2018.

The Bank’s staff will welcome members of the public on Saturday the 3rd of March 2018 from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sunday the 4th of March 2018 from 10:00 to 14:00 for a guided tour of the Bank of Mauritius premises and The Bank of Mauritius Museum.

Information kiosks will be available to help visitors understand the role and functions of the Bank. A short video on the history of the Bank as well as some illustrations of the Bank’s focus on innovation and technology will also be shown to the public.

The Bank also wishes to inform the public that, as from the 5th of March 2018, The Bank of Mauritius Museum will be fully operational during week days from 09:30 to 16:00, except on public and bank holidays.

As from Tuesday the 6th until Thursday the 8th of March 2018, the Bank will be hosting a series of lectures targeting University students. These lectures on banking, finance and economics will be facilitated by experts from the Bank as well as leading professionals from key business sectors.

Across the week-end leading to the independence day, the Bank of Mauritius premises will also sport the Mauritian colours. Whilst the commemorative decoration on the building will be visible during the day, it will be in its full splendour after nightfall.
