Inflation Report

The Bank of Mauritius has been publishing the Inflation Report twice a year since 2008 by virtue of Section 33 of the Bank of Mauritius Act 2004. This Section stipulates the Bank shall promote open discussions and comments on its monetary and financial stability policies and makes it mandatory for the Bank to publish, at least once a year, a statement on its monetary policy, and at least twice a year, statements on price stability.

The Inflation Report provides an assessment of factors underpinning monetary policy decisions as well as the risk factors that could make these projections deviate from the baseline macroeconomic scenario. The first issue was released in November 2008 and the last one in April 2015.

As from May 2016, the Bank of Mauritius has started publishing the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Report once a year in April/May which contains the statement on price stability. A second statement will be published in October in the Annual Report of the Bank of Mauritius. The Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Report replaces the Inflation Report.
