A silver commemorative coin of Rs20 denomination was issued in May 1998 in proof condition to mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The design on the reverse of this commemorative coin depicts the birth of Prince Charles with a gold plated cameo with the inscription "PRINCE CHARLES 1948" in the middle and with the surrounding inscription "1947 ELIZABETH AND PHILIP 1997 - 20 RUPEES" .
The design on the obverse of this commemorative coin depicts the effigy of Late Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam with the inscription "DR THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR SEEWOOSAGUR RAMGOOLAM KT."
The coin is in a transparent acrylic protection capsule contained in a red case. The coin has been struck by Royal Mint, London.
