Members of the public are informed that Barclays Bank PLC, Mauritius Branch has surrendered its Banking Licence under the provisions of Section 11(7) of the Banking Act 2004, following the transfer of the whole of its undertaking to Barclays Bank Mauritius Limited on 1 June 2013.
The Bank of Mauritius has accepted the surrender of the Banking Licence of Barclays Bank PLC, Mauritius Branch which, accordingly, stands cancelled.
Barclays Bank PLC, Mauritius Branch, has ceased to conduct banking business in Mauritius as from the close of business on 1 June 2013. The banking activities of Barclays Bank PLC, Mauritius Branch are henceforth being conducted by Barclays Bank Mauritius Limited.
