Media Release: Governor Harvesh Kumar Seegolam elevated to the rank of Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean

The Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, Mr Harvesh Kumar Seegolam, has been elevated to the rank of Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK), the highest civilian award, for his valuable contribution in the banking sector.

This prestigious honour recognises the Governor’s exceptional leadership and his significant role in maintaining financial stability in the country in the context of an unprecedented and challenging environment. Under his guidance, the Bank of Mauritius has implemented various measures to preserve confidence in the economy.

Expressing his gratitude, Governor Seegolam stated “I wish to thank the Honourable Prime Minister for his unwavering support and trust that have enabled the Bank of Mauritius and the financial system of our country to reach new heights in an ever-challenging environment.” The Governor also extends his appreciation to the Deputy Governors, the Board members and all staff of the Bank for their commitment and dedication.
