The Bank of Mauritius together with a number of commercial banks operating in Mauritius sponsored the twelfth edition of the Inter-Club Youth Championship. The event was organised in collaboration with the Mauritius Athletic Association (MAA) and was held on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November 2018 at Maryse Justin Stadium, Réduit.
This year around 1000 athletes participated in the Championship from different clubs in Mauritius and Rodrigues. Fifteen best athletes from Rodrigues, selected following preliminaries held at Camp Du Roi Stadium, on Saturday 03 November 2018, participated in the two-day event in Mauritius.
The following national records were established this year:
- Shotput U16 Boys with a throw of 16m42 established by Jordan Quirin of Rose-Hill AC, broke the 33 year-old record.
- 50 M –U12 Girls in 7.28s established by Elsa Dalou of Rose-Hill AC.
- 50M– U12 Boys in 7.22s established by Luciano Gaiquis of Beau-Bassin AC.
- Long Jump – U12 Boys 4m44 established by Hensley Perrine of Camp Du Roi, matched the previous record established in 2001.
- 150M-U14 Girls in 20.02s established by Ambre de Commarmond of Black River Star.
- 60m Hurdles-U14 Boys in 9.13s established by Chan Chung Fong of Angels Reduit AC (Preliminaries)
- 60m Hurdles-U14 Boys in 9.10s established by Chan Chung Fong of Angels Reduit AC (Finals).
- 150m -U14 Boys in 17.91s established by Yohan Murden of Rose-Hill AC.
- 100m Hurdles-U16 Girls in 15.46s established by Marie Thevenet of Rose-Hill AC.
