Communiqué: Winners of Monetary Policy Challenge 2011 and Essay Competition

A prize giving ceremony was held at the Bank on Tuesday 20 December 2011 to reward winners of the Monetary Policy Challenge and Essay Competition organized by the Bank in the context of its Financial Literacy Programme.

Monetary Policy Challenge

The fifth edition of the Monetary Policy Challenge launched on June 14, 2011, attracted 22 entries and the prizes were awarded to the following winners.

The first prize of Rs60,000 was awarded to a team of students from the Royal College, Curepipe, comprising Messrs Ved Shewraj, Gaivin Cheeneebash, Joggesser Oodaye and Bhooshun Bhurosy.

The second prize of Rs40,000 was awarded to a team of students from the Royal College Port Louis, comprising Messrs Ridwaan Jaulim, Kavish Bullyraz, Keshav Chinaappadu and Faeez Mosserdee.

The third prize of Rs25,000 was awarded to a team of students from Royal College Port Louis, comprising Messrs Jamiil Jeetoo, Thakoor Sharma Geerawo, Larson Aaron Chi Ming Chan Wan Kai and Bhavesh Ramdaursingh.

Essay Competition

The first edition of the Essay competition on the theme “Importance of Saving for Youngsters” launched on July 29, 2011, attracted 47 entries and the prizes were awarded to the following winners.

The first prize of Rs15,000 was awarded to a team of students from the Loreto Convent College, Port Louis, comprising Miss Naomi Farla, Miss Emmy Prodigson and Miss Tania Rock.

The second prize of Rs9,000 was awarded to a team of students from the Loreto Convent College, Curepipe, comprising Miss Visuddha Beeharry, Miss Kooshluxmi Audhin and Miss Seema Groochurn. 

The third prize of Rs6,000 was awarded to a team of students from Loreto Convent College, Quatre Bornes, comprising Miss Neeti Hauzaree, Miss Jeshina Poinen and Miss Vaina Venkiah.
