The Bank of Mauritius jointly with some commercial banks sponsored the fifth edition of the National Inter Club Youth Championship which was held during the weekend of 24 and 25 September 2011 at the Germain Comarmond Stadium in Bambous.
Some 725 athletes from 25 clubs took part in the event. The participants included fifteen best athletes selected after the Inter Club/School Youth Championship held on Saturday 10 September 2011 in Rodrigues. Some 400 athletes took part in the games in Rodrigues, which were also sponsored by the Bank.
During the two-day competition, fourteen National records have been established, including one in 500 metres (in the category colt) in 1.24.86 as compared to the previous record of 1.29.72 set on 12 March 2006.
