Addendum/Clarifications: Refurbishment works at the Bank of Mauritius, Rodrigues Office

We refer to the RFP for the “refurbishment works at the Bank of Mauritius, Rodrigues office, launched on 29th June 2026 and wish to provide the following addendum/clarifications:

  1. The deadline for the submission of the bids has been extended from 30 July 2026 to 14 August 2026 by 23.59hrs (local time) at latest.
  1. Following queries raised by potential bidders during the pre-bid meeting held on 13th July 2026, the responses of the Bank are as follows:

Bill B – Section 2.1.5

The tender specifies that the counter with shelves shall be fitted with sliding doors; however, this arrangement may not be practical.

 

Bidders are invited to provide swing doors in lieu of sliding doors.

Bill B – Section 2.4 - Brass plate for indicating Opening & Closing time of the Bank.

The Brass Plate shall have a dimension of 200mm (L) x 300mm (H).

Bill B – Section 3.4.3

The existing flush door is beyond repairs.

Bidders will therefore have to bid for a new flush door.

Bill B – Section 3.6.1 - The wall panel in the Currency Office.

Bidders are required to submit a bid for a full height metal partition in the Currency Office.

Bill B – Section 3.6.2 – View Panel

 

The view panel shall have a size of 245mm (L) x 445 (H) with the laminated glass thickness being 10.0mm

Bill C – Section 1.1 - Painting of Walls in Store

Painting in Store is NOT REQUIRED as the shelves cannot be moved.

Bill C – Additional Work – Flooring in the Store

 

Bidders are required to include in their bid replacement of the existing vinyl floor tiles in the Store with new vinyl floor tiles in the walkway passage only.

Bill D – Section 1 – Bank of Mauritius Letterings

 

  1. Granite tiles on which “Bank of Mauritius” Letterings have been installed will not be cleaned but replaced by new ones.

 

  1. Bidders are therefore required to remove the existing Granite Cladding on which the “Bank of Mauritius” Letterings have been installed and lay new Granite tiles of the same size, colour, finish and thickness.

 

  1. The procedures for removal of existing and fixing of new granite tiles and Letterings are described below:

 

  1. The Contractor shall carefully remove the existing external granite cladding and replace with new granite tiles of similar type, colour, finish, thickness and dimensions to the existing installation.

 

  1. The existing letterings fixed to the façade shall be carefully dismantled, protected from damage and stored safely for reinstallation upon completion of the works.

 

  1. The Contractor shall carefully remove the existing granite tiles without causing damage to the surrounding structure, hack off and remove all existing mortar, adhesive and debris from the substrate, and prepare the background to provide a clean, sound, uniform and level surface.

 

  1. New approved granite tiles shall be fixed using an approved granite adhesive suitable for external applications and exposure to all weather conditions, strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. All joints shall be filled with a high-quality weather-resistant cementitious grout.

 

  1. Upon completion, the letterings shall be refixed in its original position, and all installed granite cladding shall be sound, secure, watertight, properly aligned and aesthetically acceptable.

Bill D – Section 1 – Bank of Mauritius Logo (Additional Work)

 

  • Bidders are required to submit a bid for:
  1. Replacement of the Granite Cladding on which the Bank of Mauritius “Logo” has been installed (located on the parapet wall along Hajee Fateh Mamode Street);

 (b) Remove and reinstate existing Bank of Mauritius” Logo as specified in Section 2.2.1 (i) of the RFP document

  • The same procedures apply for removal of existing and fixing of new granite tiles and Logo as described in (8c) above.

Bill D – Section 4

 

 

Painting facades of the Bank on ground floor (along Max Lucchesi and Hajee Fateh Mamode Streets only) including nine (9) Roller Shutters exteriors, the walls of the two (2) terraces on the Bank Apartment first floor of the Bank in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, colour to be approved by the Bank

To be deleted and replaced by the following works:

 

Bidders are required to submit a bid for:

 

  1. Painting of Exteriors of the two (2) Roller Shutters located in the Guard Room (back door) and along the Corridor facing FSC Office
  2. Painting of Interiors of four (4) Roller Shutters located in Chief Office, Banking Hall and Guard Room (both shutters)

Bill D – Section 6.3 – Wall Guards (Installation of additional Wall Guards inside the three (3) Cubicles (Paying Cashier, Receiving Cashier & Security)

Bidders are required to include in their bid, an additional length of 14m of wall guards, of the same specifications, to be placed on the walls inside the three (3) Cubicles.

An approximate  slot for two hour time be granted for a survey

An approximate  slot for two hours will be granted to interested bidders for measurement purposes and the date for this purpose will be communicated to interested bidders in due course.

Kindly consider the maintenance period of six months instead of 365 Days

The DLP will remain at 365 days (one year).
