Auction of Government of Mauritius Treasury Bills and Bank of Mauritius Bills

Further to the Advance Notice published on 07 June 2017, the Bank will issue on Friday 16 June 2017 Government of Mauritius Treasury Bills (GMTBs) and Bank of Mauritius Bills (BoM Bills) through separate auction.

1. The Bank will receive bids from Primary Dealers for the 364-Day Government of Mauritius Treasury Bills (GMTBs) for a nominal amount of Rs1,000 million, to be sold through auction, in multiples of Rs100,000, on a yield basis quoted to two decimal places on Friday 16 June 2017 for same day settlement.

2. The Bank will also receive bids from Primary Dealers for Bank of Mauritius Bills (BoM Bills) for the two maturities  namely, 91-Day and 182-Day, for a nominal amount of Rs1,600 million, to be sold through auction, in multiples of Rs100,000, on a yield basis quoted to two decimal places on Friday 16 June 2017 for same day settlement.

3. Primary Dealers may submit bids for GMTBs and BoM Bills of the above maturities, up to a maximum of three bids per maturity, one for each bid yield, which, however, should not exceed the tender amounts in the aggregate.

4. Primary Dealers may submit bids through the Reuters dealing System before 10.00 a.m. on Friday 16 June 2017. Bids received after the prescribed time and date will not be considered.

 5. Results of the auctions will be announced on the same day and successful bidders will be required to effect payment of the cost price of the GMTB and BoM Bill through the Mauritius Automated Clearing and Settlement System, at latest by 1.00 p.m. on the same day, i.e., on Friday 16 June 2017.

6. The Bank of Mauritius reserves the right to accept or reject any bid either in full or in part, without assigning any reason in respect thereof.
