A limited edition of a silver commemorative coin of Rs10 denomination in proof condition was issued in January 2000 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The design on the obverse of the coin depicts the Coat of Arms of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the inscriptions "MAURITIUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, 150th Anniversary , 25th January 2000"
The design on the reverse of the coin depicts a view of Port-Louis harbour, the Chien de Plomb, the Arms Square, and the Government House together with the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Mauritius with the surrounding inscription "MAURITIUS-TEN RUPEES"
The coin is in a transparent acrylic protection capsule contained in a blue case. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Monnaie De Paris giving the specifications of the coin is enclosed in the presentation case.
The coin is circular in shape with a diameter of 38.60 mm and weighs 28.28 grams.
